We envision our departments as centers of design excellence and innovation and our faculty as experts and consultants in creative design and research. Our programs seek to promote culturally, socially and environmentally sustainable design that will improve our shared urban and natural landscape.
The College of Architecture at Kuwait University, established in 2010, comprises two main departments. The Department of Architecture, founded in 1997under the College of Engineering and Petroleum, and the Department of “Arts and Design,” which began in 2003 under the College for Women, later renamed the Department of “Communication Design and Interiors.” This establishment marked the College of Architecture as Kuwait's first institution dedicated to specializing in architecture and design, with a focus on nurturing and advancing these fields within the country.
