Vision Statement

To be a leading center in the region in the fields of architecture and design through: (1) Innovative academic programs that keep pace with the latest global trends and developments and integrated education that combines theory and scientific application and enhances critical and creative thinking skills among students. (2) Dissemination of scientific research and global participation in the development of architectural and design sciences through publication in top-ranked scientific journals, obtaining patents, and contributing to the enrichment of the knowledge economy. (3) Serving the local and international communities by providing effective architectural and design solutions using the latest advances in the sciences and arts of architecture and design, and to increase the efficiency of the quality of human life and the surrounding environment.

Mission Statement

The College of Architecture at Kuwait University strives to prepare a generation of creative architects and designers capable of developing a beautiful and sustainable built environment and living experience. It also seeks to disseminate knowledge and raise awareness of the sciences, skills, and culture of architecture and design in the society in order to improve the quality of life, support economic and social development, and enhance the national cultural identity in the State of Kuwait.

Main Objectives of the College

The general framework for the college's objectives was drawn up in accordance with the university's strategic plan, which adopts four orientations through which it seeks to implement goals and phased objectives with the participation of the various colleges and work centers at Kuwait University to achieve institutional development in its system, namely: Quality, Presence, Excellence, Innovation, and Sustainability. The objectives of the College of Architecture are in line with the local and developmental needs of the State of Kuwait and enhance the college's ability to provide highly skilled graduates who contribute to achieving the state's future vision, by adopting the following objectives:

1-Distinguished Education:

Distinguished Education: Providing an interactive learning environment that combines theoretical and applied learning, enabling students to acquire the technical and creative skills necessary to excel in the fields of architecture and design, allowing students to gain practical experience through partnerships with government and private institutions in Kuwait, in order to achieve the following aspirations:
* Develop innovation
* Build technical and practical efficiency
* Qualifying the student for the job market

2- Development of Leadership and Professional Skills

Equipping graduates with high leadership skills and professional capabilities that qualify them for success in the Kuwaiti and international job market, through training programs and workshops focusing on the latest technologies in architecture and design to achieve the following:
* Enhancing practical skills in project management and application
* Teaching professional ethics and enabling students to build a professional network
* Enhancing communication skills

3- Innovation and Sustainability

Focusing on providing innovative and sustainable design solutions that contribute to improving the quality of life and meeting the needs of local and global communities to develop the following:
* Intellectual sustainability
* Environmental sustainability
* Cultural sustainability

4- Communication and Development of Productive Partnerships

Building strategic partnerships with architecture and design sectors to enhance opportunities for cooperation and exchange of practical, scientific, and educational experiences, and cooperating with the local community to provide consulting and design solutions for local projects in order to achieve the following:
* Improving the living environment and enhancing the quality of life in Kuwaiti society
* Creating practical and functional products and studying the job market realistically
* Raising the economic level of architects and designers in general.

5- Scientific Research and Development

Supporting scientific research and creative projects that focus on addressing contemporary challenges in the fields of architecture and design, including digital technology and environmental sustainability, and encouraging students and faculty members to participate in scientific research and creative projects that seek to solve contemporary architectural and design issues, such as climate change and renewable energy, with a focus on:
* Developing Kuwaiti scientific content and exporting it to the world
* Contributing to policies and planning
* Supporting a research culture in various design fields

6- Enhancing the Role of Technology in Design

Integrating advanced digital technologies into design processes to enhance students' ability to deal with modern design tools, in order to achieve the following aspirations:
* Development of digital modeling, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence
* Responding to new needs in the practical design market
* Enhancing students' technical skills in architecture and design.

7- Community Development

Providing assistance to the local and global community using the scientific, human, and social competencies of the team and university students to achieve the following:
* Enhancing human sensibility
* Contributing to improving the built environment and visual culture
* Preparing more aware graduates

8- Professional Development and Continuous Learning

Enhancing students' understanding of the importance of Kuwaiti identity, architectural heritage, and visual identity, and working on designing projects that respect cultural and historical heritage while integrating them with modernity to achieve the following:
* Creating a sustainable visual identity
* Keeping pace with the state's goals in highlighting a unified national identity
* Developing an entrenched architectural culture
