College of Architecture

The College of Architecture at Kuwait University, established in 2010, comprises two main departments. The Department of Architecture, founded in 1996 under the College of Engineering and Petroleum, and the Department of “Arts and Design,” which began in 2003 under the University College for Women, later renamed the Department of “Communication Design and Interiors.” This establishment marked the College of Architecture as Kuwait's first institution dedicated to specializing in architecture and design, with a focus on nurturing and advancing these fields within the country.

The College of Architecture houses some of the latest programs at Kuwait University, which was established in 2013. The faculty aims at preparing highly trained and competent graduates, committed to lifelong learning with premier standards of professional practice as well as national and international social-cultural responsibilities. The Department of Communication Design and Interiors (CD&I) at the College of Architecture offers two academic programs: Visual Communication Design and Interior Architecture. Both programs offer interdisciplinary approaches to design.
