Academic Departments and Programs at the College of Architecture

College of Architecture at Kuwait University includes two academic departments and four academic programs:

1. Department of Architecture: Offers the following academic programs:
   a. Bachelor of Architecture (5-year system)
   b. Master of Science in Architecture (full-time or part-time system)
2. Department of Visual and Interior Design: Offers the following academic programs:
   a. Bachelor of Visual Design Sciences (4-year system)
   b. Bachelor of Interior Architecture (4-year system)

These academic programs—despite their different specializations and scientific nature—share the teaching of the arts and sciences of design, which is a process of innovating products that serve humanity and positively impacts their societies, and the surrounding environment in which they live.  The field and scope of design vary according to the specialization.  The architect designs cities, residential neighborhoods, and buildings, while the interior architect designs and rehabilitates the interior spaces of buildings for reuse, and the visual designer designs two-dimensional visual works (such as designing logos and identities for institutions and designing web pages and interactive applications).
Student admission to the specializations offered by the College of Architecture depends on the equivalent grade point average, which consists of the sum of the following percentages:

70% of the total percentage of the secondary school certificate
15% of the result of the national unified mathematics exam
15% of the result of the national unified English language exam
The priority for selecting a student in a specialization is based on the equivalent grade point average and the number of seats available in each academic program.
